The first forum session in the Community Forums Programme in Sveti Nikole took place on November 27, at the City Hall, in the presence of 166 citizens of the municipality
The session was attended by representatives from the education sector, social services, municipality, business sector, NGO sector, as well as Forum guests,.
They were welcomed to the forum session by the moderator and co-moderator of the Sveti Nikole forum session, with an introductory speech by Mayor Slobodan Danevski who wished his feloow citizens success in their work.
Ne underlined that through the Programme the citizens would be able to choose the issues of greatest imporance and address them, with support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), participating with MKD 6 million, while the municipality’s share is MKD 2 million.
This was followed by an adress from the representatives of SDC and CIRa, the organization implementing the Programme in this municipality.
Katrina Zafirova, representative of the municipality and member of the operative group, explained in greater detail the social issue – since the municipality of Sveti Nikole is the first one to hold a theme forum.
At the first forum session, the citizens spoke about the social development issues they would like to work on, based on which the working tables were created (sports, youth, public health, education, business sector, rural communities, culture, the unemployed). Working instructions were determined, and the next forum session was scheduled for December 17.
Overall, the attending citizens thought that the first forum session in Sveti Nikole went more than great, as witnessed in the attendance figures.
As regards the Forum, they think that it’s good for the citizens to be able to take part in decision making, and in this case to decide on the priorities when it comes to spending these MKD 8 million.
