  Environmantal protection is the topic chosen by the citizens of the Municipality of Dolneni at the first forum session that took place in the restaurant M, in the village Lazani, on the 3rd of December, as part of the Community Forums Programme.

 The topic, one of the two proposed by the municipal authorities, got 57 votes, while only 37 citizens voted for the Rural Development topic.
    “The Municipality of Dolneni is a multiethnic environment where all the citizens live in peace and harmony. We have solved many infrastructure problems, but unfortunately there are many that are yet to be solved”, said the Mayor of the Municipality of Dolneni, Iezudin Karishik, at the beginning of the session.
    The Municipality of Dolneni is one of the eight municipalities that were chosen for  second cycle of the second phase of the Community Forums Programme, which is planned to involve around 25 municipalities in the course of the next three years.    The participants at the first session gathered around several working tables on various topics of interest to the citizens: agriculture, economy, healthcare, youth, special needs group, environmental protection, and education.
    The projects, to be determined and proposed by the citizens, will be financed from a budget of 6 million MKD, 1.5 million of which are contribution of the municipality, while 4.5 million are a donation from the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency (SDC).   
The implementing agency of the Programme in this municipality is the Association for Sustainable Development and Cooperation “Alka”.
