  The first forum session in the Municipality of Saraj, as part of the Community Forums Programme, determined the priority of the citizens of this municipality – renovation of existent sports facilities in the municipality.

  During the next forum sessions, the citizens, using a democratic decision-making model, will pronounce their ideas on this topic as well as the specific results in direction of improving everyday life in the municipality.
    The session, which took place on the 1st December in the restaurant Demir in the Municipality of Saraj, was opened by the Mayor Bekim Fazliu, who indicated the reasons for this municipality’s participation in the Programme. The budget for this municipality is 8 million MKD, 2 of which are contribution of the municipality, while the rest are a donation of the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency (SDC).
    At this session, the forum had seven working tables representing the interests of the present citizens: municipal administration, sport, youth, pensioners, education and culture, unspecified, and healthcare.
    The Municipality of Saraj is one of the eight municipalities that were chosen for  second cycle of the second phase of the Community Forums Programme, which is planned to involve around 25 municipalities in the course of the next three years.
    The implementing agency of the Programme in this municipality is the Association for Democratic Initiatives (ADI).
