Sixty seven residents of Novo Selo and the surrounding settlements attended the sixth forum session which took place on May 20 at the restaurant Sonce in Borisovo, within the frames of the Community Forums Programme.
Five working groups presented five project proposals and draft budgets that were identified by the residents of this municipality as priorities to be addressed in order to improve their everyday life.
They include project proposals to provide clean drinking water in Novo Selo, replace asbestos pipes in the village Susica, and provide clean drinking water in the villages Mokrievo and Borisovo.
Furthermore, representatives of the working groups presented project proposals to repair the irrigation channel network in the villages Kolesino, Mokrievo, and Borisovo, and to construct an irrigation channel network in the villages Staro Konjarevo, Drazevo, and Smolari.
The discussion between the residents present in the forum mostly focused on the budgets and the high prices, voicing concern that their projects might not get the votes because of that.
The representatives of the villages Borisovo and Mokrievo agreed to vote only on the project for irrgitaion channels in Kolesino, thus reducing the budget, and these two villages will remain included in the project to provide clean drinking water.
The following, seventh session, is scheduled for June 24.
The Community Forums Programme is aimed at ensuring participatory involvement of citizens in the process of decentralization, with assistance and financial support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
