 The Forum in Dolneni, part of the Community Forums Programme, took place for the seventh time on July 2 at the restaurant M, in the presence of approximately 70 residents of the municipality.
From the several project proposals identified as priorities to improve their everyday lives, the residents of Dolneni selected two, namely “Waste management in the settlements in the municipality Dolneni and awareness raising among the population” and “Securing healthy drinking water for the settlements Zitose, Dolno Zitose, and Lokveni”.
The total budget for the first project amounts to MKD 6,327,000, of which the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Municipality will provide MKD 5,684,000. The remaining funds will be provided by the project holder and the partners.
The second project’s budget is MKD 5,054,459 of which the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Municipality will provide the remaining 316,000 from the budget to develop technical documentation.
The practical implementation of the projects will involve a set of activities, including procurement of a vehicle to transport the waste to provisional landfills, procurement of containers and their placement in settlements, as well as awareness raising and information for the citizens.
Furthermore, the second project will include development of technical documentation for construction of a new 240 m2 reservoir adjacent to the current one and linking them, and the setting up of a new 700-metre long pipeline of polyethylene pipes 125 in diameter.
The seventh forum session marked the finish of the forum process, which took off with the identification of municipal problems, their analysis, establishment of working groups, offering solutions to the problems, as well as development of project proposals and of final projects.
In addition to the municipality Dolneni, this stage of the Community Forums Programme is taking place in seven other municipalities – Berovo, Sveti Nikole, Bitola, Resen, Saraj, Kocani, and Novo Selo.
