A total of eight projects were chosen by the residents of Saraj on the seventh Forum session within the Community Forums Programme, which took place on July 10 at the restaurant Eja.
By means of a democratic vote, the citizens decided on projects which were discussed and debated in the past few months, as identified priorities to improve their everyday lives.
The selected projects include: “Constructing and equipping a sports field in CU ‘Ibe Palikuka’ in the village Bojane”, “Constructing and equipping a sports field in CU ‘Ibe Palikuka’ in the village Laskarce”, “Constructing and equipping a sports facility in OU ‘Drita’ in the village Kopance”, and “Constructing and equipping a sports facility in OU ‘Diturija’ in the village Ljubin”.
Also selected were: “Reconstructing and equipping a sports hall in OU ‘Bajram Shabani’ in the village Kondovo”, “Supplying sports equipment for the Pensioners’ Association”, “Paving of the sports field in Dolno Svilare and necessary construction”, and “Constructing and equipping a sports field in OU ‘Faik Konica’ in the village Radusa”.
All citizens which had attended at least four forum sessions had the right to vote, and voting was not done on an individual basis, but rather per working table.
The Kondovo project got 60 points, the Svilare project 55 points, the Kopanica project 47 points, the Laskarce project 42 points, the Radusa project 40 points, the Ljubin project 33 points, the Pensioners’ Association 33 points, the Bojane project 32 points, the Matka project 29 points, and the Bukovic project 14 points.
The implementation of the project in the village Bojane required additional MKD 200,000, but the Mayor of the municipality Saraj, Blerim Bexheti, said that the funds will be provided by the Municipality.
The total budget for municipality Saraj amounts to MKD 8 million, of which MKD 2 million are a contribution by the Municipality, and MKD 6 million are a donation by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
