The third forum session in the municipality of Berovo, took place on 21 October at the restaurant Loven dom, in the presence of 67 citizens from the municipality.
The session involved discussions and presentation on projection of revenues of the municipality for 2010 and expenditures on bases if competence – public utility activities and protection of the living environment and nature.
The manager of the department for finances at the municipality Berovo, Zvonko Pekevski, presented the revenues of the municipality of Berovo for 2010, pointing out that by preparing the draft – budget and its final version which needs to be passed by the Municipal Council it will be possible to discover the item for expenditures for the next year.
The participants established the following proposals for expenditures associated with public utility activities. Public lighting – use of alternative sources of energy, water supply, waste water treatment, roads, streets and wharf, maintaining the cemeteries and proper waste management.
The proposal read as follows: protection of water, soil and air; utilization of alternative energy sources; protection of forests as natural treasure and greater control on the use of forests and maintenance of the forest routes.
Funds from the budget of the municipality will be allocated for the implementation of the proposals presented at the working tables. The largest number of proposals came for the public lighting of the town, especially along the wharf of the river Bregalnica and the public lighting of the village settlements, installing additional trash containers in the tourist areas, paving the road to the cemetery, maintenance of the chapel and offering funeral services, replacement of the asbestos pipes where they have not yet been replaced, replacement of the water supply network in the village Rusinovo, the utilization of alternative energy sources, increasing the supervision of the main polluters, indicating the natural water sources that are good to use, better control over the forests and forest felling, pollution protection of the river Bregalnica, installing net around the Berovo Lake, finding a location of a landfill etc.
The large number of proposal shows that the participants at the forum were very active during the discussions and the offering of the proposal, as well as the interest shown in the budget of the municipality and the operation of the local government.
