 The first forum session of the intermunicipal forum, the first one in the municipalities Mogila and Novaci, took place on September 29, at the restaurant Kolta in Mogila, in the presence of 151 residents of the municipalities Novaci and Mogila.
The goal of this session, taking place within the frame of the Community Forums Programme funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in cooperation with the Municipality, is to introduce residents to the programme, identify structure and rules of work.
This is the first intermunicipal forum on a topic of common interest that requires intermunicipal cooperation, of concern to both municipalities involved. This type of Forum is open to neighboring municipalities with a similar social and economic profile.
The participants were welcomed by the Mayors of the two municipalities, Slavko Velevski and Lazar Kotevski, who invited them to participate in as big a number as possible, because the Forum's success depended on them.
Eleven working tables were established at the Forum session – Youth, Councillors, Education, Sports, Municipal Administration, IT, Agriculture, Business Sector, Environment, Local Community and Public Health.
The funds available to the Forum amount to MKD 8 million, of which MKD 6 million are a donation by SDC, and the two municipalities, Novaci and Mogila, will have to provide MKD 1 million each. The working topic is Waste Collection.
The selected projects will have to be implemented by November 2010.
In addition to Mogila-Novaci, this phase of the Community Forums Programme is implemented in Radovis-Konce, where there is also an intermunicipal forum; Berovo, Strumica, and Debar, where there is a budget forum; and Aerodrom, Gostivar, Makedonski Brod, Krusevo, and Bogovinje, where there are is a traditional and project forum.
