The citizens of Bogovinje reached decision on two projects

“Construction of sidewalk along the regional road Skenderbeg” and “Procurement of transport vehicle (truck) for waste transport” are the two projects that will be realized in the municipality Bogovinje as part of the Community Forums Programme.  The voting process which was organized at the restaurant “Las Vegas" in the village Pirok as part of the seventh forum session on 26 March related to the four projects that the citizens of the municipality Bogovinje elaborated over the course of the past months as their priorities.     “This active involvement of the citizens is part of the democratic process which also requires transparency of the local authorities", stated the director of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) Tatjana von Steiger Weber who attended the session.     She also added that it is necessary to give the municipalities the opportunity to institutionalize the process so that the Forums can become part of the municipal statutes.     The first-ranked project - “Construction of sidewalk along the road Skenderbeg” will consist of three phases of activities within a five-month period. The construction of a sidewalk in the length of 1 400 meters and decrease in the number of traffic accidents are some of the expected results.     The total budget of the project is 2.839.350 MKD. The municipality participates with 643.300 MKD while the partners participate with 266.000 MKD. The larger remaining amount of funds is donated by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).     The second-ranked project – “Procurement of truck for waste transport” would be realized in three phases within the course of a period of five months. Procurement of a transport vehicle and raising the quality of service for the citizens in Bogovinje are the main end results.   The total budget for this project is 4.394.200 MKD. As announced by the municipal authorities, the remaining part of the necessary funds will be allocated by the Municipality Bogovinje.   Apart from the projects in Bogovinje, the Community Forums Programme is also being implemented in Berovo, Debar, Strumica, Radovis, Konce, Mogila, Novaci, Krusevo, Gostivar, Aerodrom and Makedonski Brod since October last year.
