Public utility company for Mogila and Novaci - project of the citizens of the municipality

“Active public utility company for Mogila and Novaci" is the project that was selected by the citizens of the two municipalities within the frames of the Community Forums Programme and the first inter-municipal Forum that was held in the two municipalities.      “This foundation of a joint public utility is the first example of its kind in Macedonia, and hopefully all participants will take active participation”, stated the Mayor of Mogila Slavko Velevski, adding that the inter-municipal partnership should be extended.     The project that the citizens voted in favor of, foresees merger of the two public utility companies in Mogila and Novaci and foundation of a joint company, as well as procurement of vehicles.     The total budget is 7.948.000 MKD. 5.365.000 MKD are donated by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the municipalities Mogila and Novaci participate with 1.788.800 MKD while the carrier of the project participates with 795.000 MKD.     “The cooperation between the municipalities needs to continue while we explore for new investments with the aim of creating better living conditions for both municipalities", stated the Mayor of Novaci, Lazar Kotevski.     The Community Forums Programme began with the implementation in the municipalities Mogila and Novaci in October last uear. Over the course of seven forum session the citizens of the two municipalities specified the priorities that would improve their everyday life.     “I hope that you will preserve the results of this Forum and will continue with the process together with the municipality", stated Suncica Kostovska Petrovska, Programme manager at FIOOM – organization that is implementing the programme in Mogila Novaci.     The total budget of the Programme for the two municipalities is eight millions MKD. The municipality participates with two millions while four millions are donated by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
