The citizens of Gostivar voted in favor of the project “The Vardar Quay”

“The Vardar Quay” is the project that was selected by the citizens of the municipality Gostivar at the seventh forum session that was organized in the restaurant “Dedebeg” on 25 March.  34 of the citizens that attended the session voted in favor of the project as one of the four projects elaborated during the previous Forums  thus specifying it as priority that would improve their everyday living.     “The forum prepared excellent projects and recommendations and I hope that you will continue to implement this model of democracy”, stated Svetlana Milenkova, manager of the Programme implemented in Gostivar by the CIRa organization.     The selected project foresees horticultural arrangement and modernization of the right bank of the river Vardar in the municipality and modernization and reconstruction of the left bank of the river Vardar. The municipality is the carrier of the project while the public utility company is the partner.     The duration of implementation is six months with a total budget of approximately six millions and six hundred thousand MKD. The budget of the Programme for the municipality Gostivat is six millions MKD. Four millions are donated by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) while the municipality participates with two millions.     The remaining portion of the funds needs to be provided by the carrier and the partner.     The Community Forums Programme has been implementing in Gostivar since October last year. Apart from Gostivar the municipalities of Berovo, Debar, Strumica, Mogila, Novaci, Radovis, Konce, Krusevo, Gostivar, Aerodrom and Makedonski Brod have also been included in this phase.
