New windows for three schools and one kindergarten in Aerodrom

The implementation of the project to replace the windows in three schools and one kindergarten in the municipality Aerodrom, chosen by the citizens as part of the Community Forums Programme, started on August 18 (Wednesday). The project was launched by representatives of the local community, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Swiss Embassy, as a programme donor, as well as many media outlets and citizens.       “This municipality includes various groups of citizens with different problems. But they have to get together and decide which problems are in urgent need of solving,” said Nicole Wyrsch, Ambassador of Switzerland to Macedonia.     She added that this specific case was only a small portion of the needs of citizens expressed in the Community Forums meetings.     The implementation of this project, which includes replacing the windows in the elementary schools Blazhe Koneski, Brakja Miladinovci and Goce Delchev, and in the kindergarten Izvorche, costs approximately MKD 7.1 million, of which MKD 4 million are a donation by SDC, and MKD 3.1 million are a contribution by the municipality.     The project was chosen by the citizens of the municipality in the seven forum sessions that took place in the municipality, where they presented their priorities for improving their everyday life.     “I am proud of the fact that we are realizing this project with support from the Embassy of Switzerland in the Republic of Macedonia and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, to which I would like to express sincere gratitude on behalf of all citizens of the municipality Aerodrom,” said Ivica Kocevski, Mayor of municipality Aerodrom.     The Minister of Education, Nikola Todorov, also expressed gratitude for the project, explaining that the project is a proof of the awareness of the local authorities and the Swiss Embassy about the need to invest in education.     This phase of the Community Forums Programme is taking place in 12 municipalities: Berovo, Debar, Strumica, Mogila-Novaci, Radovish-Konche, Bogovinje, Krushevo, Gostivar, Aerodrom, and Makedonski Brod.
